Cleaners...interview questions? Contracts?

We are looking to employ a cleaner who also cooks a couple of dinners for us 1 day per week. We have some girls coming for interview but are stumped as to what to ask them. Also do you bother with contracts for them since they're much less formal than nannies? Thanks!

I personally don't interview cleaners (don't have one at the moment) In the past I have just got them to come and do a trial clean when I have been home...if they do it well and are personable and friendly they get the job. Check refs before giving keys/leaving them alone.

Try the good housekeeping section for more replies

If preparing food, you could ask if they have their Food Hygiene certificate
