hi all just wanted to know what information can be obtained on a crb. ie if any allegations were made against you but nothing came off it?

No idea, sure someone will know though.

imananny · 21/04/2008 17:38

i think crbs only show actual convictions - sure nick will know

squirrel42 · 21/04/2008 17:39

From the CRB website:

The Standard check contains details of all convictions held on the PNC including current and 'spent' convictions as well as details of any cautions, reprimands or final warnings. If a position involves working with children, the CRB check will indicate whether information is held on three government lists of those who are banned from working with children or the vulnerable.

An Enhanced check involves an additional level of check to those carried out for the Standard CRB - a check on local police records. Where local police records contain additional information that may be relevant to the post the applicant is being considered for, the Chief Officer of police may release information for inclusion in an Enhanced check.

So it might turn up on an enhanced check; depends on the circumstances. Just something else to keep in mind - if social services were aware of the allegations (if they involved a child protection matter for example) then they might turn up in a social services check.

crbs hold cautions?

erm how about being D&D? - though wasnt me

chel86 · 21/04/2008 18:03

CRB checks hold info on convictions and cautions, so I'm afraid the D&D will be on there!

imananny · 21/04/2008 18:08

then a good thing wasnt me

will inform my friend!!

nannynick · 21/04/2008 18:58

I don't think it will contain allegations, though such info could be provided by the Chief Officer of Police if it was felt such information was relevant - and if the info regarding the allegation was still on file somewhere.

shoshe · 21/04/2008 19:03

Weren't allegations put on if working with children, after teh Soham Murders, think he had allegations that wern't disclosed.

MaureenMLove · 21/04/2008 20:50

I've just read my Enhanched one (one of 3 I hold!) and there is a section marked, Any other info that the Chief Officer of Police feels is relevent. (words along those lines anyway!)
