Just need some advice, my son is 18 months and will be entitled ti 15hrs from september. I have asked for my childcare to now become term time with me paying the wrap around hours. The nursery has said my som cannot be term time until he turns 2 and i will need to pay the same days that he would have free in the term time in the holidays… is this normal?

also they have said he cannot move from the baby room until the term after his birthday being april and i will need to continue paying the baby room rate. Its confusing as 80 percent of the time my son is with the older children as there are not enough babies and they are just trying to exploit me for finacial purposes…

has anyone had any experience of this?

Unfortunately it is normal at the moment. A lot of nurseries are losing money due to the funded hours and so, aren’t offering term time only places. Child-minders seem to be ALOT cheaper.

seems like the nursery are trying to get as much money as they can to me!
