do you join in with all their play/games or do you just provide them for your mindees. i'm finding with my new mindees school aged that i have to say what they play with even though i provide a variety of toys/equipment for them and have said to them when you come in you can choose whatever you want to play with. what am i doing wrong?

I think some of it is to do with their age. Some kids you just can't please! I can take the kids out in the morning, have lunch, do baking in the afternoon, trake them to the park, and when we get back and I'm starting dinner they're asking me what they can do because they're bored! I simply point out the living room which usually looks like an explosion in toys r us with all the toys, books, games, arts and crafts etc.!

If they're new to you they will still be building their confidence. They are obviously very polite if they're not diving in there and feel like they need permission! It'll come to them in time. I usually do half and half; play with the kids and then leave them to it.
