Hi , I’m new to the Gov childcare help and have a few questions?

for example, my son was born on 1st April 2022 (2yr old) and I can’t use my 15hrs until September 2024 because it has to be the term after their second birthday? But when I Google it the term after 1st April (his birthday) is 12th April so don’t understand why I’m having to wait until September?

also, the tax free childcare. Is it the same idea? My account is set up but do I also have to wait until September to use it?

the gov website doesn’t have any info on it.

many thanks 😊

Because the tern dates change each year and even between counties, the cut offf dates are fixed at 31st March, 31st December and 31st August.

Tax free childcare is different and can be used from 30 days before your return to work.

My little one is a couple of days younger than yours. We already use tax free and have since he was 9 months old. We can access the funded hours from sept. The code is already available and I've passed it to nursery already to use from them.
