Hi there, I have a query. I am working professional and want to hire nanny/au pair. Is it good if I hire a local uni student for the same? What are your views?

Thanks!

Well a nanny is a full time job normally carried out by someone with childcare qualifications in your own home.

An au pair is someone that lives in your house and is treated as an older siblings that carries out light housework and childcare duties of school age children and is often in the country on a gap year and to learning the language and culture.

If you are hiring a uni student it sounds more like you want a babysitter, as it will have to fit around their studies.

A child minder might be more appropriate looking after groups of children in their own home if you want it during the school/uni day
