Tax Free Childcare £500

We're trying to call them but can never actually speak to someone, so thought I would ask here in the meantime.

Dd has been in nursery since the start of Jan. For Jan the invoice was £746 and Feb was £754. March's invoice was for £696. Total for all three months is £2,196 and the government should be putting in £439.20 and usthe rest. However, when we put the money in the account for this month, it wasn't the right amount and a message had come up to say that we had reached the max amount of £382 rather then the £500 per quarter. Has anyone else had this? I'm not sure if we're missing anything!!

The start and end dates of your 3 month window line up with your confirmation dates, rather than just the first 3 months of the year etc. This will.have been the pro rata amount.

What date did you first set up the tax free childcare and confirm it?

You have to confirm your eligibility every 3 months from setting the account up. If you don't then you'll lose your entitlement to use tax free childcare.

If you started the account in December ready for nursery starting then you'll need to reconfirm sometime in March. Have you done it yet?

Yeah we did that a couple of weeks ago.

So your £500 allowance will have been reset when you did that.

Just to check I understand your problem properly! Under your account balance is a statement saying how much you’re entitled to for this period, and how much you have left - see the picture. Does yours say “you can get a maximum government top up of £382 for this entitlement period” ?

Hi just following up from the original post. I am having the same problem.. I dont seem to get the full £500. Mine was coming in at £480 for some reason?
