Nanny looking for a new job - is it super slow at the moment?

Hello fellow nannies,

My job is due to end soon and I am looking for a new part time job. I keep on looking on childcare.co.uk and every agency in London but I see the same 10 positions everywhere. It wasn't like that last time I looked for a job (2020).

Is it because it is January? Or is the nanny job market just not great at the moment? Or is there a secret website I don't know about? Do people use Facebook?

I am generally cool but I start to panic a bit.

I am having the same issue. I am in West Sussex. I have just signed up to Care.com, they have a few jobs but no-one has come back to me on there. I was searching this time last year and there were more jobs available then. I think the cost of living has made a lot of people look at other options. Also the government funded hours for 2 year olds due to start in April will have an effect on nannies. It is worth keeping an eye on FB, I see a few on there but there are also a lot of people who respond to them.

Yes, I think the funded hours have put dampers on things.
Also I find its location location location.
I've just started a new job, from childcare uk. I guess also it depends what you are looking for, hours, days etc...
Best of luck in your search!
