Any of you lovely Nanny/childminders got a simple idea I can pinch ?
Competition at nursery and I am struggling to think of a good compromise to the traditional (rather girly) efforts I usually create.

A (green?) beret with little bugs & bees & flies on it? (made out of pipecleaners)

A straw nest with chicks in?

pellmell I cheated somewhat for my ds last year and covered a yellow hat in springs, for spring!

bodiddly · 17/03/2008 21:06

how about a crown with eggs around it and chicks in the middle?

wohmum · 17/03/2008 21:10

there is a thread in chat discussing the exact same thing...

i found a yellow cowboy style hat, made a nest of tissue paper, and put choc eggs in the middle of it, and strung little chicks all around the brim ( a bit like corks on an "Australian bush hat"). was great fun to make, and ds1 got to eat the eggs afterwards! He won 1st prize at school, at which we were mightily chuffed! (esp as i'm not the most creative of people!)

Bunny Hat:

What You Need:
construction paper (different colors)
paper plate
stapler
glue
googly eye
safety scissors
pencil
What You Do:
The paper plate will form the basis for your hat.

Cut long, thin triangles for ears. Color them and glue them on the paper plate.

Create a bunny nose, mouth and cheeks using constrution paper. Glue them on the paper plate for the bunny's face.

Add googly eyes.

After the glue dries, add a string to the paper plate so that it can site comfortably on your head

Thanks so much everyone
Jura that hat is amazing.
I will never ever be able to manage something as brilliant as that.
It's given me the basic idea though.

Right....think think think!!
