This is quite niche. I live abroad but work for a UK company . I am required to go to London for a total of three nights in mid June for a two day meeting and am totally stuck with childcare. Husband is also abroad at this time.
So does anyone have any ideas about two days of childcare in The City. We would be staying in a central hotel. Can anyone think of a solution, where to look for help? My little one will be 6. It would be 8-5 for two consecutive days.

Hey

Yep that sounds like a very unique situation. I'd say your best bet is a nanny because nurseries (in my local area anyway) would be funny to accept two randoms for two days.

Try www.childcare.co.uk and see if there are Nannie's or childminders in London

Do you have any family or friends where you live that could look after your child and you leave them behind if you're only here for 3 nights? Or bring them with you if you cover their flights and accommodation?

Try sitters.co.uk

Hi,
Try a temporary London nanny agency like Greycoat lumleys. They have a temp nanny section and all their nannies will be reference checked and have a valid police check (DBS)

Nurseries won't accept a 6 year old anyway.

It's going to have to be an expensive nanny isn't it . Sob . Thanks everyone. I know I was clutching at straws.

Why is it your problem to sort and not DH's?

@KateyCuckoo my six year old is in nursery for after school.

A lot of nurseries take up to 12 year olds to accommodate schools 🙂

You would easily be able to hire a nanny for those two days. Ideally via an agency who would have done the checks

Would it not be easier to leave at home and ask a school friend to have them for 2 nights as then be at school daytime
