Nanny for a week

I am potentially looking for a nanny for 1 week next year in May. Does any one know of any agencies they would recommend, or how I would go about looking for one. I have come across a website called care.com, does anyone have experience of this as the website seems to have what I'm looking for.

I use Tinies, they are great

As a nanny I do not use CareDotCom. I do use Childcare.co.uk and have done for over a decade.

A local nanny agency may be able to help, though I have not had any success finding work via an agency since 2008 - so my view on agencies is they are a waste of time. Maybe I'm hard to place, maybe agency owners/staff are not good at sales, who knows.

Hard to know if finding a nanny to work a whole week would be hard or not. It will depend on your area and the job market at the time, as if there are lots of nannies looking for work, then some may want to do a week of temp work and not have other commitments getting in the way. I nanny part-time and thus have commitments on some days of the week, so cannot do a full week for someone.

I'm not sure that site is active in the UK.

What sort of care do you need?

I bet a lot of work via agencies equally get work via childcare sites and word of mouth

I’ve used bubble with success for temp nannies before.

I've found recent cleaning clients on care.com and also see a lot of nanny jobs so I believe it is popular and well used.

Thank you for all the replies, I’ll have a look at the suggestions. We’re in Worcestershire, maybe a bit easier to find this sort of thing if we’re in london. We’re looking for care for a 7m old during the day for a week and a nearly 3 years old for a couple of days as well, ds1 is at nursery 3 days a week, but maybe for the days he’s not at nursery.
