My baby can’t sleep without being rocked and no matter how tired she is she won’t sleep she’ll scream the place down until I rock her and she will immediately start to close her eyes and go to sleep she can now sit up so the rocking cot is no longer safe so I’m switching her to her other cot which can also convert to a toddler bed but my only concern about this is the rocking how will I get her to sleep ? Please can someone help me with this she’s my first baby she’s 5 1/2 months

You could try swapping rocking for a different kind of soothing, which you can then phase out gradually. We used to rock our baby to sleep in our arms, and eventually switched to patting him in the cot instead, which switched to stroking. Disclaimer: I can't say we've fully managed to phase out the stroking yet, but it's a lot better than the rocking!

I was going tosuggest patting instead it might take a few days and she might be a little upset but patting and "sshhing" is a nice bedtime routine

Look up "rockit" you attach it to the cot/buggy and it generates movement

Look at gradual withdrawal and start with a gentle tapping hand

Ditto Gradual retreat and pat and shush

Have to say I hate the rocking cots /Moses baskets and if clients have them I say no to using them

As you have found out they seem great till you can't put them in a and they cause extra issues and a habit baby need rto grow out of
