WEEKEND STAFF ROOM

crace · 08/03/2008 07:43

Hello Girls and Boys!! We've been up for a while so I thought I would (lamely) open a weekend staff room.

Rose - saw your message on Friday, kitchens are going cheap so you might be able to use insurance money toward a new kitchen. ?

Have a great weekend, today DH is working away in Londontown overnight (and yesterday!) so it's me with the kids (again) so I am keeping them busy as poss and looking forward to a nap this afternoon. I have paperwork today but I think it's going to have to wait until DH is around tomorrow. We haven't been food shopping in three weeks (we tried an experiment to spend less ££ on food and it so so worked - I am thrilled) so it's a big shop to do tomorrow and dd needs some new shoes so off to Clarks! The fun never stops in the crace household!

Morning! I have been up nearly all bloody night and think when dh gets up I will be going back to bed for the whole weekend!!
No real plans here. Thought about having a look at the trampoline but not sure it is going to be the weather for it!
DD got a party tomorrow afternoon so I will be taking her to that.
I have an interview on Monday for a almost full timer so I will be getting ready for that too

Hope your weekend is ok Crace and you get all your things done!

eleanorsmum · 08/03/2008 08:22

morning both, off to auctions this morn - furniture and antique bits. have got a few bargains in the past, so just off to see what they've got. then a quick squiz at the charity shops for new toys etc for 'work' dd likes it too. I'm off to work in my other jobs this afternoon 3-8 and then 8-11 in the morning. then we're taking dd to the cinema for the first time! going to see the bee movie - anyone seen it. the cinema in reading does kids club at the weekend in the morning and it's £1.50 for her and i'm free! wow! sure beats £10+ in bracknell/wokingham! at some point i must make cushion covers so i acn sit on something comfy on the floor! and do some paperwork! oh i cram too much in don't i!

KatyMac · 08/03/2008 09:23

I have toothache
& a pile of paperwork (household) that needs filing (since last June actually )
& accounts needing to be up to date
& it's the sailing club work day so I need to spend an hour or so there
& there is a bit of work paperwork if I have time
Oh and the presentation to write for my course on Thursday

Gulp

Hi all!

I am off to town today got a mystery shop to do.

I got my variation letter finished last night, can anyone find me the address to send it to please?? (I am Yorkshire and Humberside area).

Blimey katymac that's one hell of a list!

Eleanorsmum you definately cram too much in but you are definately not the only one!!

Hi crace - don't know how you have managed not going food shopping for so long¬!

SB- saw you got your buggy do you like it?

southernbelle77 · 08/03/2008 12:41

I'm up again now!! I did go back to sleep but then some selfish person phoned and it woke me up DD is now asleep though which, although normally would be very unusual, after her antics last night is much needed!

You all do sound busy! I really should do my accounts but still can't be bothered!!! I'm going to regret being so slack I know!

Kay - my buggy?! You heard i got a new one? Wasn't sure I'd mentioned it very much!!! I LOVE it! I really do! So much easier to push than the other one! And alhtough I must admit that going up hills to with 2 year olds in it is a bit of a push, it will keep me fit Best purchase I've made! And, will be very useful if I get the baby who is coming to see me on Monday!

mumlove · 08/03/2008 18:41

I am sure the weekend is much harder work than having mindees here! Trying to please DH and DD in what needs doing as well as some cleaning, washing, shopping etc.
I just want to leave them all and go to bed, but have to finish putting shopping away now that tea is over and unload then reload the dishwasher! OH for some real magic .

Mum2Luke · 08/03/2008 19:02

Hi all, not done much today except take ds to his football this am. Mum came this pm and we spent the afternoon in the warm of my lounge.

Am feeling pretty low at the mo, had a Mum with an 18mth old come a week last Friday, she said she would get back to me if she wanted the place but didnt so i gave her a ring to see if she wanted the place, she gave me the excuse that because I had no little ones she didn't want to take me on, I told her that in december I lost a full place due to the ex mindee's Mum having her second child and she did not return to work and I had had great difficulty filling my f/t place - that is why I was advertising! I also told her when she came to see me that I go to 3 Tots groups, parks, playcentres etc so the little boy would have been with other little ones. He would have had the best 1:1 care and anyway, at the moment, I have no space in my car or carseat for another little one. What am I supposed to do? I was trying not to cry down the phone, she cannot judge a cm just because I had no children there. I am running out of ideas how to get anyone at the moment, there are just too many cms in our area and we are constantly in competition with each other.

Has anyone else had this experience or am I the only one that always seems to either get parents who let me down at the last minute, my confidence is really sapping.

i'm knackered - i had first day of my first aid course today - and my knees really hurt from practicing CPR on a hard floor - god i so hope ds lets me have a lie-in tomorrow as if

looneytune · 08/03/2008 23:17

Hi everyone

Not read all messages, just noticed Mum2Luke's message and wanted to give a big virtual {{{hug}}}. Don't know what to say to make you feel better, hard isn't it

Violet - I was also on my first of 2 Saturdays first aid training with a VERY hard floor!! Luckily I got to do CPR on the child dummy on the table as can't bend over due to low blood pressure. It was funny actually as the trainer kept saying 'that's ok, you don't need to do this bit' or 'that's enough breaths, i've seen enough you can stop' and 'this lady is 6 months pregnant so won't be doing xyz' Was so but preferred that to having to do the things and then maybe passing out lol.

Right, dh is pumping the airbed up for me then off to sleepy byes. This is the 3rd night on the damn thing but he's promised the bed will be clear by tomorrow so I'm looking forward to a proper nights sleep tomorrow night.

Night night x

vInTaGeVioLeT · 08/03/2008 23:57

i must've missed something - airbed why?

looneytune · 09/03/2008 08:05

Dh has been doing lots of prep work in bedroom ready for decorating so we're in the lounge. He's on the sofa and I'm on the double airbed which slowly goes down during the night. Not good for pregnancy but I want the bedroom done

looneytune · 09/03/2008 08:52

Now catching up with yesterday....

crace - well done on the food shopping but don't know how you managed! I get it online every 2/3 weeks but dh still has to pop out and get bits!

belle - Good luck with your interview tomorrow!

EllieM - oh....what's this then? Is it at The Vue? I didn't know this and ds is all into cinema now!

Katy - hope your toothache gets better soon! You've really been in the wars recently haven't you

KayS - I just scan a signed copy and email to enquiries @ ofsted. gov. uk I do have the address on it but if you don't find it, just send without if you have a scanner?

Mumlove - I find weekends hard too, it's the boring stuff isn't it

eleanorsmum · 09/03/2008 15:56

looney- yes the vue, sat and sun about 11.30 am one film no choice generally kids been out for a while, we saw the bee movie today. £1.50 per child adult goes free! additional adults £1.50, DD loved it to start with but then said she not well, didn't want to stay and is now aslepp on sofa - hot and snufffly poor love.
have decided not to apply for variation this side of lo being born. don't want to tkae on more than i can handle! but thansk for advice.

ROSEgarden · 09/03/2008 17:32

Hi All..thanks for thinking of me Crace..hope you got some rest this wekend, must be so hard working all week the doing it all yourself again with your own on a weekend.xxx

Im gunna run up a list of kitchen [palces through the week and pop in to see a few next weekend, dp has drawn up what we would like and we'll see what we can get with that!..its just teh dodgy cowboy builders and the mess and the time that bothers me..plus the £1000's of pounds for the priveledge!

MaureenMLove · 09/03/2008 18:12

Evening all! I've missed an entire weekend on here! This is only my 3rd post since Friday afternoon!

Went out on Friday night, to a school quiz night and the drink wasn't agreeing with me, shall we say! Very drunk indeed. Not well at all yesterday. Thankfully my family didn't need me for anything so, I stayed in bed..... until 6pm!

Been damn busy today though! Catching up on what I should have done yesterday. Had to go to church parade first thing and I could have done with a bit more sleep tbh!

dmo · 09/03/2008 18:45

missed a few days myself mo with this and that, i too was at chursch parade this morning
so did you tell your parents about the new job?

Mum2Luke · 09/03/2008 23:13

Thankyou LT for the hug, feeling a bit better now, its her loss anyway, if she doesn't want 1:1 care for her little one with plenty of trips to tots groups and other places thats her problem.
Went out to see 'Be Kind, Rewind film at flics, good film and quite funny too.

Had good day, went out for lunch as hubby was in Reading for Manchester City match and stayed at his friends, ds played out all afternoon with the other children and they had an early Easter egg hunt - our church pastor didn't hide them too well as they were found in 10 mins!

Good nite all, se you all tomoz.
