Nanny for our wedding

Hi All

We are looking for a nanny for our wedding next year but would like to get to know the nanny beforehand. Is this something anyone has any experience of?

We don't regularly leave our children but would like some support at home with 4 children (between 8-12) and one with autism in the run up to the wedding & during the big day.

Thank you

I had one for my wedding.

We used Tinies Childcare. They were great and we had them from ceremony to first dance for all the kids in attendance and one stayed on until 1am to specifically look after my two 2DC, put them to bed etc.

You can post on childcare.co.uk some childminders offer this service too

We had one at ours a few years ago and she was excellent. Came to our house twice before and met the kids. She was through an agency so they checked her first aid/references/ DBS. Best money we spent!

Thank you all for your replies. I have checked out childcare.co.uk but I seem to find nannies/childminders who want regular work which is understandable. I will check out the other website you suggested and also seek to find agencies locally.

Thanks again

How severely impaired is the child with autism. To be in sole charge of 5 children you barely know, one of whom has SEN is quite a big ask. You may need two people to safely cover.

I’d recommend you look at SNAP if the child with autism is non verbal or has any significant behavioural challenges.

If you post a (suitably vague and non outing) rough location people might be able to suggest local agencies

Hi Katrina

There are four children here, but totally agree it's a lot and we would be more than happy having two helpers for the day, but our other three children are very sociable and happy with friends and family. Our autistic son is verbal, toilet trained, able to feed himself etc. just needs someone to supervise him if he is wanting some quiet time in another room if things get over whelming.

We are based in the West Midlands

I recommend www.alleventschildcare.co.uk/

Lisa is also brilliant for kids with ASD.

I've done wedding childcare work like this via Bubble childcare app, in London - not sure if it has a presence in the West Midlands but it's v popular around here!

There is a section for babysitting and when a childminder opens their account they can check the box. But if you do a profile it will come up as a notification they will read and message if they can help.

Pitch up and Play offer a wedding nanny service. They're Bristol based so depends where you are in West Midlands in terms of if they'd travel to you and for what cost. But they were really good.
