Hi We have recruited a fabulous Au Pair her Engliah is great so she doesn't need to go college however she does need to meet some other au pairs. Any sugestions as to where she can meet some au pairs to socialise with? Or does anyone live in north london, buckinghamshire with an au pair who wants a new friend?

If she can get to Portland Street in London, there is an Au Pairs meet-up every Wednesday at the Swedish Church, they speak English there and all nationalities are welcome. Very friendly and loads of APs go - just a shame mine doesn't want to make any friends.

I have an Australian au-pair who is almost 19 and would love some friends. She's a great girl, with a good sense of humour.
Am in Devon though so not good for regular social stuff.

We have a spanish au pair whose english isn't great but who would love to meet other au pairs and see a bit more of London etc. We are in Buckinghamshire/Bedfordshire (Woburn)......is that too far north for you?

Gooseegg - we're quite close by if I remember correctly? My ap goes out in Plymouth most weekends with a group she's met at language school (currently French, Spanish, Italian and German). I'm sure your ap would be welcome to join them. The only problem would be getting home. My ap often has friends to stay, but they stay in the other half of her double bed, so I couldn't offer that on her behalf They also go on daytrips at the weekends - perhaps she'd go along on one of those?

Oh yes - I know she would be really, really keen. She used to be at a boarding school so misses having friends around.
I know I had your email address but can't find it. If you've still got mine can you contact me and I'll give you my au-pair's email and our home phone number.
Thanks

Have just emailed you. Luckily you wrote your MN username in your email to me!

Also my Finnish AP found there was a Finnish AP forum, I'm sure they all got on-line and complained about their 'family'!

I live in Devon - near Exeter. I have an au pair just arrived - from Sweden. She would love to meet some other au pairs. Are there any in the area?

Boar · 17/10/2012 17:13

Yes we have an Austrian girl who would also like to meet others.

Boar · 18/10/2012 14:09

It seems, having spoken to ours, that they have already made contact through a Facebook group!

Cathalyna · 18/10/2012 16:02

Yes Facebook is great! There are tons of different groups, just look for 'Au-Pair London' etc.
