found a lovely lady today. She seemed very switched on. Has four boys of her own. All the staff at the drop in know her and quite a few of mums too. She made a point of telling me to check her out. She engaged ds very quickly and actually got to him before i did. He liked her too. She told me she can have him one session a week. She has two other on that day. Is it normal to have three? u

Hi! How old are here boys, do you know? The numbers are generally no more than 6 children, with no more than 3 of them under 3, only one of which can be under 1. So, yes, it is normal to have 3 at the same time.

the youngest is nine the rest i dont know. One or more grown up though. She did seem very well known. It is at the one o clock club run by council

As someone who's been spending lots of time researching childminders to leave my 10 month old with, it sounds reasonable to me that she can have three on that day - she sounds like she's being straight with you, and your son's 2 isn't he? WAs she at the group you met her at with some of her other mindees?

Her children won't be included in her numbers then, so yes, its perfectly fine. Good that she suggested you 'check her out' too! Do you know where she lives? If so, you could look at her Ofsted report online. It won't actually give her address and name, but you can usually work it out from the description! Just Google Ofsted reports and choose the childminders link.

Oh and the best advice I can give you about worrying is don't watch the whistleblower thing! For every 1 bad childminder there are dozens and dozens and dozens of good ones! I know it wasn't about cm's, but ykwim!
