Nursery choking hazards

The other day I picked my 10 month up from nursery & she was crawling about holding a felt pen (with lid on). This to my mind is a serious choking hazard- the lid could get stuck in her windpipe. When i got home I reflected on it and it made me anxious. I have emailed the nursery about it and asked for their risk assessment.

How would you feel if you were me and would you have done the same? Thank you.

Are the children in age related classrooms. This wouldn’t be suitable as u say for a child of that age. Maybe it fell on the floor? I would check what is available for them to get hold off. What did u say to the staff

I emailed the staff and they gave me a long response. I asked for their risk assessment and they shared it. They apologised and said that the staff member failed to check the garden properly. I am glad they reflected and I hope this won’t happen again.
