Hi,

I understand the 30hrs free childcare is available to those where each person's income is under £100k. What can't work out is which financial year its from, is from the previous tax year before you start the claim?

It's during the time you claim. You will be asked about your expected salary for the next 3 months, four times a year.

Are you already using Tax Free Childcare? You should be eligible for that as well - they check eligibility in the exact same way.

Hello this is great news! I'm looking to claim for my daughter from September 2025. Would this mean that I would need to make sure that my salary is kept below 100K from the start of the new tax year (April 2025)?
