Baby sleeping

10 month old will only be put to sleep by his mum. Even if he wakes up mid sleep only his mum can console him. As she going back to work soon we are trying to figure how we can change this so family members can put him to sleep.

Tell his mum to go out of the house at bed time and stay out until he's asleep. And do this consistently until the baby accepts someone else.
The more she rescues whoever is trying to put him to bed, the more she's reinforcing that it can only be her.

This just leads to endless crying.

The crying will stop when the baby eventually falls asleep. You need to harden your hearts for a few nights.
Your child won't hold it against you when he gets older - promise.

Absolutely agree with @KnickerlessParsons
it may sound heartless, but it is the only way.
