9 month sleep association

9 month baby will nap perfectly during the day in his cot. However once the night comes he will not sleep on his own. He need’s to hug his mother to be able to sleep. How do you get out of this habit

He's a baby.
This is normal.

He won't be a baby forever and he will grow out of it.

It's normal. It'll pass OP, but it's very hard going. Keep up the cot naps, and baby will get there eventually at night. Babies are biologically programmed to want to be near their mums at night, it keeps them safe because they are small and vulnerable.
