Struggling to transition 9 month baby from purées to solids. When i mean solids i mean less pureed food. He keeps gagging. What type of foods should i be giving

Cucumber sticks, boiled veg sticks (carrots, sweet potato etc), broccoli, toast (cheese on toast, beans on toast), crumpets, omelette, pasta (especially things like penne), bagel with cream cheese.
I also used to make things like fish pie and mush them up with a fork. They do gag occasionally, they also suck and gum the food to bits!

Babies have to gag it's part of learning to move food around the mouth. It isn't choking but sounds horrible.

He’s meant to gag, that’s how he learns to eat and take appropriate size bites.

You should be giving him whatever you’re having, cut appropriately as per solid starts and mind the sugar/salt contents.

That way he will actually be learning how to eat.
