Moving to Exeter

I’m a single parent (dad) moving to new job in Exeter. I’m looking for good places to base where schools provide good wrap around, sports clubs and other activities (holiday clubs).
would hopefully be pretty close to countryside, river etc for getting out for walks and runs after/ before work
ideally not more that a 30min commute from work in central Exeter.
Am considering: Exminster, Chudleigh, Ottery and Crediton. Any advice helpful.
Thanks so much

Do not move to Crediton, it’s an absolute hole!

What about the other way, Broadclyst, Whimple, Pinhoe, Bradninch, Silverton - all within 25 minutes to centre of Exeter

Consider the secondary catchment while you look at primary, I know people who have moved out of exminster to get the right secondary...

We’re also doing this move over the summer! From what we’ve found - look very carefully at schools and catchment , and also make sure the schools you like actually have space as hardly anywhere seems to !

Thanks so much so far.
Next question:
Any info on after school care in Starcrass ideally until 6pm but 530 is ok ( for a 10y old boy….)

Does anyone have any recent thoughts on The Maynard School in Exeter? Interested in prep and seniors. Thankyou

Sorry thought I’d posted that as a separate post!
