dmo hugs. Thats my biggest fear of looking after other peoples children. I now use those rubber braclets and write my moblie number on in permanent marker, they then put them on their ankle before putting shoes on.

Are the boys ok?

dmo · 20/02/2008 18:06

boys are fine didnt even notice
love the police ride
parents are fine about it too
still feel really sick
boys were still running and playing when found

southernbelle77 · 20/02/2008 18:09

Oh goodness DMO. Big hugs for you as can only imagine how scary that was for you. Pleased to hear it was all ok in the end.

mumlove · 20/02/2008 18:13

In one way thats good that the boys didn't notice as they then get very clingy when you go out places afterwards.

I lost my DD in argos one xmas and she stayed by my side when we went out anywhere for months.

KaySamuels · 20/02/2008 18:15

Oh DMO what a nightmare!
If it's any comfort to you I have 'lost' a mindee before too, I was at a wacky warehouse type place with an indoor and outdoor area, turned round and he had gone (was 4yrs old), me and staff searched for what seemed like an age (prob 10mins), he then happily came skipping out of the bushes looking very triumphant!!

He had been playing hide and seek but had forgotten to tell me!!! So had heard me shouting and thought I was playing along (was very pleased I hadn'ty found him)! I know it doesn't feel like it now but you will be able to laugh about when the sicky feeling has worn off! {hugs}

shoshe what about these buggy clips then have heard you are in the know - are they doable??

crace · 20/02/2008 18:16

What a fright that must have been for you, I am so glad as was well but you must be really thrown. Take some time, all is ok, but I really feel for you. Massive ((hugs))

I have also lost DS in the big central library in the town centre when he was 2, and in a shop last week (was also hiding both times), your heart sinks to your stomach doesn't it! {what about a guilty emotion - this is mumsnet!}

shoshe · 20/02/2008 18:23

Kay they are these love

mumlove · 20/02/2008 18:23

I have also lost a mindee (talks very quietly --- in my mums house where I was childminding from at the time, she went behind the sofa and hid. I didn't think anyone would fit there!) She even squeezed passed the magazine rack.

dmo · 20/02/2008 18:35

thamks guys i just cryed and cryed at the beach when they found them
they are only 2 and 4
i was with 3yr old helping him put his gloves on and the 2 and 4yr old went up a hill so when gloves were on 3yr ols and me went up the hill and couldnt find them, called their names and asked my sons (10 and 11) to help look for them so we all spilt up looking, i asked loads of people who were walking on the beach have they seen them but nobody had so in the end i phoned the police and they were found within 10 mins

KaySamuels · 20/02/2008 18:42

Hhmm don't think those connectors would work as buggy frames (diagonal ones at front side) wouldn't line up. Bugger!

Get yourself a strong drink DMO, if anyone asks it's medicinal!

BoysAreLikeDogs · 20/02/2008 19:05

dmo what a fright, how terrible for you.

Thank goodness for a happy outcome

dmo · 20/02/2008 19:23

phoned Ofsted who told me to put it in writing so i have just printed up the letter to send out tomorrow as they want the parents signatures on the letter to show they have been informed

think i will stay in for the rest of my life with them

BoysAreLikeDogs · 20/02/2008 19:28
dmo · 20/02/2008 19:48

KaySamuels · 20/02/2008 20:37

So baby mindee1 didn't turn up Monday - no text or call, same Tuesday, no text or call, and today the same!! Sent mum a message at about 3pm this aft to ask if they were well and that I hoped everything was ok, and asked if he would be coming this week. 'No I am off this week' Would it have been hard to let me know????
How can I approach this, it goes on all the time now, I like to know what I am doing with my day - what buggy I need out, what food needs preparing etc.

Baby mindee2 been off poorly so have had a quiet week so far, and I am missing them both TBH!

KaySamuels · 20/02/2008 20:39

Just seen your post Rosegarden - sorry you have had one of those days!

Think we should get the water checked in here, pregnancies and illnesses go round like wild fire!!

vInTaGeVioLeT · 20/02/2008 21:01

O M G dmo poor you how terrifying - hey at least the boys were unhurt and unaware that there was a problem - think i'd be having a stiff drink tonight if i was you - i hope it doesn't put you off taking them out.
