Childcare vouchers - Too much and won't be able to use it!

Hello there,

My husband has his childcare voucher - too much in his Eden Red account and with family's circumstances changed. We never spent any school holidays in the country for the past 3 years as my husband left his company in the UK and work away.

I have tried asking so many of my daughter's after school clubs if they like to accept childcare voucher but none of them wants (even local council gym for swimming lesson)

What should I do? What else could I spend it on? It is really loads left and my daughter is 8 already.

Thank you!

We built up a load of the vouchers in the pandemic and use them now on summer holiday camps for the kids. I usually send them every day for a couple of weeks even though I only need a few days a week for actual childcare - but the kids really enjoy them, they do lots of activities and swimming and by going for the full week they make friends there.
We use the Camp Beaumont camps but there are lots of others I'm sure.

Oh I misread your post. I see that you spend the holidays away with your husband as he works away, so a summer camp may not work for your family.
I believe he can ask for a refund of the vouchers, although they will deduct the tax that he would have paid from the money you get back.

PGL take them for 3, 4 or 7 night residentials. They start at 8 and kids are grouped with others similar age. We used these loads of times. They have centres across England. They do multisport but also special camps like horseriding.

Activate take them for specific sport holiday clubs. Cricket, footbool hockey maybe others.

Funtech take them for coding, game design and other tech holiday camps. Some residential, some day camps some virtual.

Ultimate Activity Camp and Baracudas are general holiday camps doing a range of sports. My kids have enjoyed all of these.

By they none of these are just in the summer.

We got some refunded through Edenred, obviously after we paid the tax. I think we could only do so when we were ready to close the account though.
