Hi mums:)
I think I will loose my job soon :(
My 2 years old is at the nursery 2 days a week. The universal credit pays up to 85%
If I lose my job i dodon't to remove him from the nursery.
Would I be able to claim for 15 hours free childcare funded by my local council?

I don’t think so. Universal free education isn’t available until the term after they turn 3.

I always thought the 15 hours at nursery was only given to those that do not work. Do you work full time and get UC?

CarlaCosta · 26/01/2023 16:39

I am currently working but I will loose my job next month, I will be unemployed. I work part time and get UC

I think if you are entitled now with a part time job, you defo may be entitled for the 15 hours after leaving, and claim benefits?

with me it was declined as they said I work, so I’m assuming that you will be entitled.

Maybe you can find another job before this one ends.
