Au Pair study visa and English classes

Hi all,

Currently having a bit of a nightmare trying to work out which English classes would qualify for a UK study visa and wondered if anybody has had any experiences? We're planning on hosting an EU-based au pair but given the situation post sodding Brexit (angry face) it seems to be incredibly difficult to legitimately host au pairs now. Does anybody know if there's any online classes which would allow us to apply for the study visa?

Many thanks
Vic

I'm sorry to hear about your struggle. I don't know much about EU study visa but why don't you look for Hong Kong-based au pair? I heard that a lot of Hong Kong young people come to the UK with BNO Visa and they have the right to work here. I guess it'll probably save you the trouble of applying a visa.

Thanks a lot Londonmomforlove. We are on various au pair websites and haven't actually come across many potential au pairs from Hong Kong but will have another look. Inevitably I suspect they will require their flights to be paid for first which is a bit of a risk from our perspective given they may not take to the job/fit in etc.

Thanks again

There aren’t any. They’d need to be studying for a degree course to be able to work 20 hours a week.

Options are. Canadians, Australians, New Zealanders, Europeans with right to remain. Irish citizens. Some South Africans have U.K. passports or can apply for ancestry visas.

or another type of childcare.
