14 month old won’t leave me alone! What’s going on?

Past few days my 14 month old seems to have reverted to being obsessed with breastfeeding again (we had weaned down to twice daily feed morning and night and maybe once overnight when I was at work and pre nap feed when not working) He’s now happily been clamped to me for over half an hour at a time, whining and screaming at night if dad even dares to appear in his room! Currently lying in bed with him latched on again. He is driving me insane and I just want leaving alone. Any experience similar or ideas what could be going on developmentally at this stage?(no obvious teething or overt illness signs)

Perhaps separation anxiety? Could you pop out of the room DS is playing in into another room without him being upset? If not, I suspect separation anxiety, often quite common in this age group and something they'll grow out of... eventually!

Separation anxiety, coming down with something that will become apparent over the next 24 hours, tired maybe. Did you have a busy Christmas? Perhaps just needs to de compress and chill out if you saw lots of people / had lots of presents. If it helps, mine is a similar age and exactly the same. Some days he hardly looks at me; others I can't get him off me!

Thanks for this, I think separation anxiety is definitely a factor. I can leave him at times to go to another room but quite often he will cry/yell and follow me so this certainly is a factor. It helps to know it’s one of those times we need to weather and they will come out of it in their own time
