Poloshirts are much more comfy I think and look a lot better and with tabards, I find they always seem to pop open when you bend down no matter how loose they are!

southeastastra · 31/01/2008 12:56

yes polo shirts, v necked t shirts look smart too and are more comfy in the summer

KatyMac · 31/01/2008 13:08

Do you like this?

OP posts:
lunavix · 31/01/2008 13:10

no, too matronly

KatyMac · 31/01/2008 13:11

Where would you go then

(aren't we supposed to look matronly?)

OP posts:
tissy · 31/01/2008 13:16

I think that would look fine with a cheery logo embroidered on it.

tissy · 31/01/2008 13:16

maybe add tabards for mealtimes?

lunavix · 31/01/2008 13:17

I don't know, I just... it's not what I'd pick but it's not my nursery

I just dislike matronly stuff, I'll see if I can find a nice modern option...

KatyMac · 31/01/2008 13:19

It's not a nursery - It's childminding

I can't afford both it's either or - actually at those prices it's probably none

Now, ya see, I think tabbards would be better. I always find its handy to have pockets for little things that mindee give you or a dummy or a stray hairband.

It also cuts down on the washing front too. You wouldn't necessarily wash a tabbard every day, but you probably would a polo shirt.

Like that colour though!

KatyMac · 31/01/2008 13:27

It's all so confusing

Someone make a decision for me

Tabards definately. You would need to provide more than one polo shirt for sure. One tabard would be fine and could be swapped from person to persone as not worn next to the skin etc.

VanillaPumpkin · 31/01/2008 13:31

I agree polo shirts look nicer but it is not a fashion show and tabards can look smart and the pocket is very useful. No contest in my opinion.

MaureenMLove · 31/01/2008 13:38

Think of the green issue Katy! Tabbards only need washing once a week maybe? T-shirts everyday! Think of the water & electricity saved!

Tabbards! Defo!

KatyMac · 31/01/2008 13:40

They are even more matronly tho' - & so expensive

OP posts:
MaureenMLove · 31/01/2008 13:42

Do you have a link? Thing is, you'd have to provide at least 2 poloshirts to everyone and only one tabbard, with a couple of spares maybe.

VanillaPumpkin · 31/01/2008 13:44

More expensive short term yes, but each person would only need one. They could even be shared and should anyone stop working for you can be left for a new employee.
Also what is the cost comparison between 2 poloshirts and 1 tabard. The tabards will last longer.....You know I am right .

KatyMac · 31/01/2008 13:44

they do the same colour as the poloshirts

OP posts:
VanillaPumpkin · 31/01/2008 13:46

The children will LOVE those designs!!!

VanillaPumpkin · 31/01/2008 13:47

(Min) Two poloshirts that will have to be given to the staff member = £14
One tabard that will remain yours and need only washing weekly not daily = £10
[grin.

KatyMac · 31/01/2008 13:48

NOOOOOOOO!!!!!

Plain amethyst

OP posts:
KatyMac · 31/01/2008 13:49

& just buy DH the polo shirt (he'd look fairly silly in a tabard)

OP posts:
VanillaPumpkin · 31/01/2008 13:50

Yes, compromise for your dh.
People can't wear a jumper if you go for polo shirts either........
I still like the ladybirds!!

VanillaPumpkin · 31/01/2008 13:51

I mean bumblebees....and there is an amythyst one .

MaureenMLove · 31/01/2008 13:52

Yes Katy, listen to Vanilla and me, you know it makes sense. I rather like the idea of your old man in a tabbard! And I like the ladybirds too!
