French Aupair

Hello,

The daughter of a friend who is 23 has just finished a one year contract in a French public institute as an admin assistant.

She is now looking to come to the UK for a year as an au-pair.

I've just had a look and seen that all au-pair routes are officially shut for EU citizens.

Is there any legal way round this?

She would potentially be interested as registering as an English as a foreign language student - but the main idea was to become an au-pair.

Has any one had any success on this issue ?

Many thanks.

No way round it at the moment.

if she wants to improve her English she can go to Australia/US they have excellent au pair programmes.

She should look at The Netherlands. Plenty of both English and international families in major cities wanting English speaking au pairs (some French too) plus she will be speaking English out and about too.

*English-speaking enough that they can communicate with them.

They could try Ireland. They too have excellent English language programmes.

@JimTheShit
I don't know why that hadn't crossed my mind !

Thanks
