DS3 and Pre-School

My DS3.5 is starting pre school next week and very nervous and gets upset about it.
he went to a private nursery previously and loved it had no issues and was close with his key worker but hasn’t been since April due to circumstances
We haven’t been to look around because their open morning is the day before he starts. He’s getting stressed about it all mainly with me leaving him there and panicking about not having his uniform which is coming this week. Any ideas how I can help him? He’s only going for 3 hours a day
he’s also not potty trained which is another issue as they haven’t specifically said he has to be as they take children on from age 2, but I’m worried as there’s no where on the forms about this
he will happily use the potty, can wipe himself, empty potty and wash his hands, I don’t even need to be in the room. Happy enough to do a poo on there and is quite proud of using the potty. I think the issue is just that he’s lazy. He treats pants like nappies and doesn’t care if he wees through them at all.

Id go for the open morning ....strange it's the day before.
Is it a school run setting?
He would be unlikely to have a potty there id transitionto the toilet.
Does he take his wet things off, do the first wipe down and redress himself?

@jannier yes it’s annoying, I signed him up in April and they could only offer that day
it Is school run / attached to a school
they have asked on their form if he prefers toilet or potty so I assume they have one
he will leave his pants on if they’re wet! He just doesn’t care about them at all. But when he goes to the toilet he will take them off himself and do everything
