Child sitter

Hi, we have a 9 year old & a 9 month old puppy. My question is if we ask a sitter to look after our child for the evening should we pay extra if we have a puppy? He doesn’t need any walking or feeding, just to be let out in the garden if he asks.
obviously we would ensure the sitter was aware we have a puppy incase of allergies etc, but I’m just curious if they would expect a higher rate because we have a dog?

thank you

No, I wouldn't have expected more, when I was sitting.

I wouldn't have offered more when I was employing.
Now my dd is sitting, she would be excited at the chance to play with / cuddle a puppy and would probably pay you to come and sit Grin

The way I see it is you are paying for the sitter's time.
A 9 yr old is a very easy "sit" generally, if you aren't hiding lots of other facts and you say the puppy isn't going to need taking out, and mess needing to be picked up or anything.

I babysit regularly and don’t expect extra for a pup or dog

Thank you for your replies, I thought that should be the case, but in know dog sitting is big business so it might be a factor . To be honest my son puts himself to bed so it’s just keeping an eye on him and the dog just mooches around or sleeps in the evening so it should be an easy time!
