My DD is a September baby so will be one of the oldest in her class when she starts in reception. She’s strong willed, defiant and has had some behavioural problems at nursery which we have managed together with some outside help. She’s a wonderful, enigmatic little person but boy, does she have a temper.
anyway, the in-school after hours care is full at the moment. I have an option of either a childminder or an external after school club. Childminder will obviously be a much smaller group, more chilled and probably children of different ages, whereas the club will be more boisterous, less one on one attention, but probably more “fun”.
Not sure which one to go for - I am a bit worried about inflicting a challenging child onto a childminder, especially if they have younger children on their books. But similarly I don’t want to tire DD out by sending her to three hours of very active play with children who are probably older than her.
Has anyone got any advice regarding what worked best for your child?
