What can happen if i give my two month old follow on formula which is for six + months ?.

I just finished filling up her containers after i realised the box says number two! I havnt given the milk yet as i still have a two feeds left of the right one for tonight but may need to just give to her once for a morning feed untill i can go out and buy some

I would say that your are fine to give it until you can get the right box for 0-6 months. There isn’t very much difference other than the nutritional value being slightly different (if you compare your 0-6 box to the 6 month plus box you’ll see what I mean) so I would imagine it’s fine for a morning feed until you can get to the shop.

The only reason there is even such a thing as follow on formula is because they can’t advertise formula aimed at newborns so therefore they make a separate formula with different packaging and slightly different nutrition and call it follow on formula because they are allowed to advertise that. In all other respects I believe it’s the same and held to the same safety standards etc.

Follow on milk has slightly more iron in it. So as a 1 off it will be fine but don't make the switch long term until baby is the right age.
