Depends what time you are dropping off and for how many children. Ours charged £4 per hour for 1 or £7 for two children. Changed to charging for full hours so we stopped using her (that wasn't the main reason but added to it). We used to drop off just before 8.30 and pick up about 5.30.

I'd say the before school is expensive. The after school is in the right ball park.
But that depends on what hours the before school requires. 7.30-8.45 costs me £7.

That is a lot - it would be around £600 a month. I

What are the timings you need them for?

Nietzschethehiker · 13/05/2022 07:08

Depends on what hours before school really.

Afterschool is about right and pretty good depending on pick up time. I pay £22 for 2 DC after school but I'm a relatively early pickup as I only need until 5pm.

From 7.30 and then max 17.30.. yes it will be £600 per month. Its shocking.

The before school part is ridiculous! After school I think is a bit expensive. Until 5:30 we would pay £13.50 including their dinner

Monika007 · 13/05/2022 13:26

Seriously... even no meals included...

Per child?

Hardbackwriter · 13/05/2022 13:33

I guess the key part here is 'the only childminder available'. Either she's charging more than other people are willing to pay, or she knows she's offering a scarce resource and charging accordingly.

Monika007 · 13/05/2022 13:36

Per 1 child

How many hours?

ASC at our school is £15 for the full session, 3-6. I think it's reasonable. Dog walker charges double...
