Me and my ex boyfriend got a 3 months old baby we don't live together however he does come down to see us every weekend, but he does the bare minimum around the baby he's never changed a nappy, he feeds him from time to time hardly made a bottle for him. He doesn't provide for the our son.(he bought nappies and milk once and paid for him once.) he says he wld be better off taking him home to his mom and looking after him there as he's says it's awkward however he sleeps here nearly for 2 years everyweekend now he says he's going to take me to court what should I do?

What do you get from this relationship?
Is his name on the birth certificate?

Unfortunately yes it is

Let him take you to court. It is an empty threat and no court will give overnight access to a father when so young. Why does he stay over, are you still sleeping together? Report him to cms too, does he work ?

Truthfully I probably only let him stay because I don't feel comfortable giving our son to him overnight. Yes he does work.

But you are not obliged to do so. He needs to be consistent and demonstrably better at looking after your ds and prioritising his needs, but also pay towards him. More than the odd pack of nappies or formula. Is he perhaps hoping by having him overnight he would be absolved of that responsibility? It sounds very unlikely he would be interested enough to pursue it legally,

I’m guessing all the time you are there he won’t do baby related stuff

As hard as it is for you maybe he is right and needs time for him and baby and can start by you going out and him at yours

Or he takes to his mums. Assume he is now living there
