CMs - what should I ask her?

I have got on the course (woohoo!) so now need to find a CM for DS - the hours would be 7:30 to 8:40 am and then 3:15-6pm with the CM doing both school runs.

I have found out that the neighbour opposite me is registered and has one mindee, one day a week.

How should I approach her to ask if she would consider taking DS? It won't be until September so I have loads of time if she says no!

I am a VERY shy person and have only ever said "hello" and other niceties to her... I need tips please!

I'm thinking of just asking outright but would that seem pushy? What do you like to know/be asked? Help... please [pathetic emoticon]

Goog God know just ask out right, but also look on here it will list all the CM's in your area.

Somewhere on MN there is thread with a list of questions you need to ask, havnt got time to find it now but sure somebody will bealong that can.

just ask her
or get a list and get her phone number and phone her (so she doesnt know who you are incase you change your mind)

I'm currently waiting on a call from a neighbour - a friend text last night saying her friend who lives in my road is in need of a minder.
I am very much looking forward to the call!
Give her a call (or a shout if you see her!) she will really appreciate it I'm sure!

Give her a call or knock her door, thats how I got 3 of my mindees, They phoned and said your xxxs mum and a childminder arent you. Do you have space for my child.
Even if she hasnt got a space she will still be happy that you and may be able to recommend someone else.
Its great to know that someone who knows who you are would like you to watch their children.
Good luck
