Au pair needed

Hi everyone
we have four kids under school age - triplets 2 and a 1/2 and a four year old. we have a nanny but she is going away for three weeks and anyway we reckon an au pair might be useful all year. It is so bewildering though, looking for an au pair, and just wondered if anyone has any tips? There are so many websites for au pairs it has really messed my brain up. Ideally we'd like someone who is cool with young kids (and lots of em) who doesn't mind mucking in and is a good laugh. It would be mainly playing with the kids and some babysitting. Any thoughts?x

I wouldn't go to an agency - I think it's money for old rope. AuPair World is quite good.

We use aupair world. Au pairs can't take the same responsibility as a nanny - there is an au pair Act written in the 1960's! We take it in turns to work from home while they help with our two babies. We've had 5, of which two have been great and 3 a waste of time. I'm still learning how to choose a good one though!

You might like to try

You can place your own ad and browse the hundreds of CV's on there

When I maternity nursed triplets the family recruited a lovely mothers help from there; and I know many other families who have successfully recruited au pairs.
