Hi there. Where can I go to get a definitive answer on how I could get a CRB check for a nanny I hire from say, Gumtree? If it's completely not possible...what do people do about this...just check references and hope for the best? I can't see an alternative really. My last two nannies have had them, by luck, as I don't go through agencies.
I did hear that it was possible, if unconventional, for an individual to go into a police station and request their police records. I heard this from someone who works for a background screening company, but it was a while ago and the details of what you can get escape me. Anyone ever done this?!
