Baby sitting sibling

My daughter is 12 and my other daughter is 5 (6 this year). My 12 year old is very mature. I’ve been searching on google whether my 12 year old can be in the house by herself looking after her sibling? Not overnight of course!

There isn't a legal age - it's up to you to make a judgement about whether it is safe.
You will remain legally responsible for both children though as they are both under 16.

DS1 started babysitting his younger siblings, 8 and 4, when he was 13. Started off a couple of hours with us within ten minutes of home, extended over time. There is no legal minimum age to babysit, the question if anything went wrong would be had you been negligent leaving them in the situation/for the length of time you did. It is generally an issue of personalities, my younger ones could always be relied on to do what the older one said and my older one could be relied on not to abuse that. You know your kids best.
