How much to pay for day and night care?

I was wondering whether anyone would have experience of this, either from a parent or nanny perspective.

My daughter is a nanny and at the moment is doing short contracts for families. A regular customer has asked her to look after their two children (10 month old baby and 4 year old child) for 3.5 days and 3 nights, but hasn't suggested the payment. The baby still wakes at night.

What would be reasonable to ask?

I charge for the entire time. If she has a babysitting rate then maybe that for 7pm-5am but some nights may be very disturbed and other nights not so much.

Some nanny contracts have in them that 10pm-6am is at half rate, which may be fine for children who sleep through but not for those who wake quite a bit.

I would start discussion at hourly rate x hours... and see what they say.

Thanks, @nannynick - that's so helpful. Makes a lot of sense.

At least £240 per 24 hours.
