You may be. You may not

I’ve known nannies been ofstedfor years and never

Thanks blonde I don't relish the thought of an Ofsted inspection but the family need to access the funding

It really varies. Some of my friends been inspected. Others not

Think you can refuse or say family don’t want you to as obv their home they visit

@nannynick is that correct

I have been registered since 2007 and have been inspected once, so far. They inspect around 1000 nannies a year.

Inspections recently have been done over the phone. Inspector could come to your home instead of work location.

@nannynick
Are the inspections straight forward? I worked in a nursery when they were inspected and it was very intense

It's not anywhere close to a childminder/ nursery inspection. It's mainly just checking your documents and asking some basic questions and making sure you know who to call if you suspect a child is being abused. I've been inspected once in about 9 years of being registered and it lasted honestly 15 mins. She came and had a cuppa, we had an informal chat and she left.

My nannies have always been Ofsted reg and have never been inspected. It can happen but most people have to be nannying for quite a long time before they get called for inspection, and it's not like a nursery or school inspection. If you know your stuff, you would be fine.
