Childminder being unreasonable?

Hi,

I’ve decided to send my DS to a nursery so gave a notice to my childminder well before the notice period (4weeks).
The last day is on the 10th Feb and expected to pay less fee for Feb fee. However, she is saying we have to pay full month fee (notice is 1st to last day of month not from middle of any month) and she told me we discussed this at the beginning when we were signing the contract.
However, both DH and I don’t remember this.
Also, this is not stated anywhere on the contract!
We pay her £80/day so not cheap so we want to avoid paying her for fill month in Feb at the same time, I want to end this in peace.
Any advice will be appreciated.

If it's not in the contract, and you've given the correct amount of notice agreed, I wouldn't pay.

Get advice on the wording in the contract if its not clear...cab may help.

Ask her to point out the relevant part in the contract. If she can't (because it isn't there!), explain politely that you won't be paying.

If it is in the contract, pay up.
