CM and babysitting mindee

My CM refuses payment for exceptionally babysitting DS. I feel rather uncomfortable for asking her at all because of that. Admittedly, this is the second time in over a year that she keeps DS outside hours.

How much should I pay her? Normal rate x1.5, x2?

Would you say that she's not keen on payment because she doesn't want to babysit at all? She did offer for exceptional circumstances.

If she's refusing cash could you buy her the equivalent value in nice wine or flowers or some luxury she'd not treat herself to? I'm sure if it's not abused she means she can do it otherwise she wouldn't offer?

I'm a CM and have looked after a mindee outside hours/overnight before and not taken payment, but this is purely because mindee and my DS were so looking forward to it and are great friends that it was more like DS was having a sleep-over!! I've since babysat mindee but in his own home and I did accept payment for that, which worked out at just under £6 per hour.

But like BB says, if she is refusing and you would like to show your appreciation, then maybe a small gift instead?
