Morning all

I'm feeling very today as DD officially knows about santa

She's been asking awkward questions (she's 8) and I've been hedging wildly, asked on here last night about whether to tell her and got various replies (as you do!!)

After being looked in the eye and asked "mummy, you said you'd never lie to me, now please tell me hte truth", DH and I told her

She was a bit sad (and is today) but DH and I are gutted. I cried when I went to bed! I bitterly regret telling her now, I wish so much I'd waited until after Christmas

MaureenMLovesmincepies · 07/12/2007 11:56

Oh MamaG, come cry with me! I'm sad about shitty rotten jury service ruining my christmas. Lets go and get drunk somewhere.

EM - I would have everything you have to hand, that way if she decides she's very interested, you can easily give her everything to take away with her. Make sure you've got your certificates ready to show her too. Altimately though, te first meeting is all about getting to know each other, so just chat! Mix up what she needs to know and idle chit chat together. you'll get a really good feel for each other that way and any questions will come up naturally. You'll be fine, I'm sure. Good luck.

Anyway having a lovely coffee while 1 mindee asleep and the other 1 playing trains.
DH wants to start putting up the xmas tree and decs tonight, so it looks like we will be in a mess all day.

MaureenMLovesmincepies · 07/12/2007 20:17

Now you know Fanta has the same effect on me as wine! (hic!) Just internet access will be fine!

SweetSnowflake · 07/12/2007 20:24

Hey Chick, i posted A's cd too..first class so may even be with you in morn?

well got email this morn asking why i was being so defensive and why did i have to 'seek advice' from higher authorities etc!..she said she was asking me "as a friend"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!..FGS i look after this persons child, i have never had a night out with her or a discussion that didnt in some way involve her child!?
She said maybe she should have given me a run down of her debts instead so i could see how bad it was for her!
she also refused my offer o bringing her dd her normal 5days a week?! and neevr ONCE mentioned or said THANKYOU about the fact i STILL offer to end her contract 2-3 weeks early!
i was made out to look like a total Tw*t and am REALLY annoyed about it all!

i sent one back saying my letter was proffesional, because i am a proffesional, this is MY BUSINESS and i sought advice to ensure i was right in what i had said and that i made the effort to seek it from someone in the know, not like this person she spoke to who made me look like fagan!
she said (regarding her mention that she wouldnt have asked if i hadnt just taken on a new mindee)she thought as i had taken on new mindee i wouldnt be as short if she finished early!, so now i know she WAS infact hoping i got sick and rather than reduce her fee as she asked, actually told her not to come back!

now tonight at pick up i said hello but was in middle of changing other mindees nappy, she shouted bye and left!, i went after her with art stuff her dd had done and she text me later asking why she was charged full fe next week! as i said i couldnt work the x afternoon due to school event(SHE actually told me SHE would be taking her dd this day and when i text her last week to say am i still picking her up from school for you to collect alter she said no...her choice, i only said i couldnt do the SCHOOL RUN at 3pm, nothing about her dd finishing at 11.20!, but you know what i cant be arsed, i text back saying you didnt trell me you didnt want dd collecting until this week, regardless pay xxx instead.......aarggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

MaureenMLovesmincepies · 07/12/2007 20:41

Bloody hell! What a cheek! It all comes down to us CM's being treated as lowly workers again, doesn't it? What the hell have her debts got to do with you? If she's got no money, she shouldn't be going out getting pissed, should she? I can't believe the nerve of her!

By comparasion, my lovely, lovely lady who I suspected was going to end contract, has. From today sadly. She only comes once a week and next Friday is already paid for but she's not coming, the following 2 weeks I'm on jury service and I really didn't see the point of doing the last week of contract, since its in January. Bless her heart, she was so nervous about saying it, but I explained I was looking for full time work anyway, so she was relieved. She asked me if she could still use my Reg no for tax purposes until her ex-dp sorts things out and she said she would still pay me half of what she usually does. I was really worried about her doing that, but then we hit on a solution. She is going to pay me a retainer, until either I get a job or her dp starts giving her money. She still wants to use me at half term and if she's really stuck, so its above board I suppose.

SweetSnowflake · 07/12/2007 21:09

well that solution sounds better than her using your number and not 'using you' IYSWIM?

yeah she is very cheeky..i actually put(being goaded from dp)..have you asked your landlord, utilities etc to let you pay less? what did they say?

maximummummy · 07/12/2007 21:20

some people have got a bloody nerve
you're right about landlord etc - tough s*@t if she's got debts haven't most people?

i'd be too embarrased to ask to be let off what i owed

i mean some childminders actually charge when they're on holiday and unavailable to work

SweetSnowflake · 07/12/2007 21:27

that would be me then..only half though and i try to take them with parents(like christmas)

FGS even if it was actually a friend asking i couldnt do it!, ive already lost £300, what more could they possibly want!
i also said they knew what the contract stated BEFORE they jacked in, so how to pay me is their responsability(dp's words[smlie])
