My daughter will turn 3 very shortly, I applied for her 30 hours funding and its been approved.. I've been given an eligibility code. Is it right to assume that this can be applied to her next invoice in September?

You can use the 30 free hours from the term after they turn 3 so I assume it will be January for your child if they haven't turned 3 yet

snaghys · 31/08/2021 22:26

I think it will be from January.

Travellingraspberry · 31/08/2021 22:26

Not until January I'm afraid, as PP said it starts the term after they turn 3.

WhatTheFoot · 31/08/2021 22:27

Definitely January, the term after her third birthday.

Oh dammit. Thought I'd save some money then. Thanks for letting me know. Least I can look forward to lower invoices in January!

Just a warning you may need to apply again in late October/November because you applied early for the funding and didn't - well couldn't - use it. You will just need to keep an eye on your online account that the funding is still valid.

My DD turns 3 at the end of the week and reading up everything it says not to apply too early for the funding for the next term otherwise they can cancel it.

It's not that they cancel it, your eligibility needs to be reconfirmed every 3 months. You get reminder emails to tell you when it needs reconfirming and it doesn't take long.

Also look
Into any extra fees your provider will
Add to the funded hours. Ours add up to £20 a day. Still a huge saving, but best be prepared!
