Wrap around care only childminding

Where would I start with this? What do I need to know?

My daughters school have just said they won't be offering wraparound care at all from September, so i'm considering starting childminding just for wraparound care.

How many children would I be able to have? I have DD who is 5, will be in year 1 in September and Baby DD who will be 1 soon. I'm assuming they'd have to count in my numbers?

Many thanks in advance!

Im a childminder and registered for 3 under 5's with no more than 1 under 12 months . 3 from 5 -8 and I think it's 3 from 8 -12 . These numbers include your own children , also if you had say 6 children you would need to have the space for them. I look after 4 at a time 3 under 5's and 1 after school

You can have more than 3 over 8 yes old. It's dependant on your public liability insurance and working alone it's usually 12 children in total. So you could have 12 children so long as only 6 are under 8.
Ofsted's rule is that it's up to you how many over 8 you have but they must not impinge on the care of the younger children.

If only doing wrap around then would be 6 under 8 so you could have 4 more school age children 4-8

Plus then more over 8 as don’t count in numbers

Tho if you aren’t a registered CM now. Won’t it take too long to set up

What is your job now ?
