What happened about that Looney? Have Ofsted given you a black mark?

fruitloop79 · 14/11/2007 20:55

ah, thankyou kindly! Hamster thing V funny. I've just had a thought, my CM friend has just bought a rabbit, bet she never thought to ask Ofsted!

fruitloop79 · 14/11/2007 21:00

did Ofsted make a complaint? slimy buggers

MaureenMLove · 14/11/2007 21:03

Ah sod it! what they don't know, don't matter! Just so long as she has permission from the parents to touch it (if she is intending on letting them) why do Ofsted need to know?

fruitloop79 · 14/11/2007 21:07

apparantly all the parents and all the kids LOVE the rabbit. I'm still coming to terms with Ofsted. Had none of this as a nanny

MaureenMLove · 14/11/2007 21:13

I struggle tbh! Trouble is, when I registered, it was with the local authority and there was very little interference, unless I wanted it. Now, you can't fart without telling Ofsted! You can't teach an old dog new tricks, as they say!

I'm not going to do this job much longer actually. I've had enough. My only dd is 12, so she doesn't need me around so much, so I'm going back to the rat race. I'll miss the littlies terribly, but I can't work with Ofsted anymore.

fruitloop79 · 14/11/2007 21:22

I thought childminding would be a good idea! been doing it nearly a year now. Thank goodness I dont have an inspection for a couple of years. Dont think I could handle the pressure just now

MaureenMLove · 14/11/2007 21:30

It is! Don't take too much notice of me. Its a wonderful job most of the time. I love my mindees, but like any job, its bound to hack you off at times. I started doing it to be at home with dd, now I don't need to, I feel I'm ready to go out to work again.

dmo · 14/11/2007 21:33

no way looney my ds was born on june 21st (longest day of the year ) also prince will's birthday

fruitloop79 · 14/11/2007 21:37

that's the same reason I became a childminder. I suppose most people start out like that. What will you do instead?

MaureenMLove · 14/11/2007 21:46

DMO, its my bruvvers birhday too!

Well, I've got office skills and sales skills (used to sale advertising in international newspapers, doncha know!). Not to mention the gift of the gab! I intend to bluff my way into something! Shouldn't be too hard. There's a temping agency local, so I'll start there after chirstmad. Can't do it until then, because I've got jury service week of 17th & 23rd December!

fruitloop79 · 14/11/2007 21:53

Well hopefully JS will be something interesting. When I did it, I sat waiting to be called up for two weeks! I ws never needed but still had to turn up! My Man is giving me evils so I'd better log off now. Poor man, he's had such a hard day at work . Bye for now

MaureenMLove · 14/11/2007 22:01

Nice to meet you today! Me thinks you're hooked already! Speak tomorrow!

looneytune · 14/11/2007 22:27

Mo - got all the 'evidence' together, just haven't got round to doing the letter yet! (been feeling a bit all over the place over the last week!)

Dmo & Mo - funny about the due date being same as your db birthday! Didn't know abou prince william! Anyway, if it's like ds, won't come on time! My dh's birthday is 27th June and my dad's birthday is 17th June so looks like June is going to be a busy and expensive month!

Fruitloop - nice to meet you and sure we'll see you tomorrow.

I'm around tomorrow morning again as double pay baby's parents have decided to keep her away in case we come down with the bug, they will let me know about Friday, depending on how we get on. So more to refund!!

Oh......can I order a nice cooked breakfast for the morning???? (couldn't possibly cook it myself at the moment or I'll throw up! ) I need to eat early as dh finds out about his job at 9am and I won't be able to eat after if he ends up coming straight home!

Right, best I think - may have an ovaltine in bed

SweetSnowflake · 15/11/2007 08:22

loony why you refunding if the not bringing her?

looneytune · 15/11/2007 08:23

I got advice on here yesterday (bug thread) and it was to offer baby chance to stay away in case we end up coming down with bug and to refund
