CM CLUB - Mindee......BUG????

Just quicky as got school run in half hour....

It's about my 2 sister mindees.....baby not been here this week as been very sick, not eating/taking bottles etc. Her toddler sister has still been coming as not been sick. Today I've had 2 sloppy pull ups. Supposed to be potty training when we're in but I've not stripped her bottom half this afternoon due to the contents of her pull ups as she may have the bug her sister has but just coming out the bottom end? These nappies weren't proper water type runny but were very sloppy. First one was when I had Dr's this morning (around 11.30) and just had another one just before 2pm.

What do you think? If it was pure diarreah then I'd send home (mum is home with baby sister anyway) but as it's sloppy I'm not sure what to do? WWYD? I'm worried about another bug in the house! Already had to close a few weeks ago for the whole week and it cost me £430+!!! (and we have to be careful with money atm as dh finds out on Thursday if he's been made redundant!) (also I'm in early stages of pregnancy and could really do without a sick bug on top of feeling yuck! ) BUT I also don't want to send home if I don't have to as it MIGHT not be a bug?

TIA

send her home

MaureenMLove · 13/11/2007 14:19

Did you have her yesterday? Do you know if she had anything that might have given her an upset tummy? Does she normally have two dirty nappies in the same day? (So many questions!) Thing is, if it is a bug, its already in the house, especially since you had to clean her up. Think you're gonna have to tell mum the score and remind her of the rules if she's still like it tomorrow.

Hi Looney, baby mindee of mine started like this before going on to develope a nasty chest infection. Could it be teething?

LoveMyGirls · 13/11/2007 14:19

Send her home, Looney you are far too blimmin soft!

Kiddi · 13/11/2007 14:22

as you will read from staff room im off with sick DS due to mindee bug! so send here home. I always go for the two nappy/poo rule one runy one is ok but parents get notified. 2nd one parents get called. simple! it costs too much and if other kids get it then their parents lose out too. BE GONE CHILD

KaySamuels · 13/11/2007 14:24

I agree send home.

LoveMyGirls · 13/11/2007 14:24

On the basis that her sister is ill and she has sloppy pooh i would send home.

SweetSnowflake · 13/11/2007 14:26

Looney one of my baby mindees had very soft nappies a 2 weeks ago, didnt think too serious as ahd not been sick for two days..sure enough i got the bug 2 days later, not watery, just v.v.soft..send her home chick!

ineedapoo - GREAT NAME!

Mo - had her yesterday, didn't eat great deal as off her food (thought being fussy?) Not usually 2 sloppy nappies like this, no but sometimes can be loose on occasion. I would have thought maybe teeth hurting or something if it wasn't for her sister.

henni - baby mindee is a sicky baby as lots will know on here. For her mum to say she's really bad and projectile (sp?) vomiting then I think it's more than just a bad chest like she usually has? Will phone her to see what she says.

LMG's - well baby would be here if I hadn't snapped last time - pretty shocked mum is at home today tbh!! (au pair had baby yesterday but is at college today)

Kiddi - just read that, how horrible Think I'll phone mum when I get back from school run! I'd rather they were both off tomorrow if this is a bug!!!

Thanks everyone. Got back from school and mindee was fast asleep so put her in bed and will leave her til about 5 unless she gets up before. Spoke to mum and baby mindee was better i.e. ate breakfast then she picked her up for cuddles and a sit down and she threw up all over her She's off to the Dr's at 4.30. Au pair is home now so I can send mindee home whenever I want but as she's sleeping, I said leave her until she wakes up and I'll see how she is. Told mum that if toddler has another runny nappy or is at all not well, she can't come tomorrow. She seemed fine, well, tbh baby can't come anyway so she's going to have to be off work anyway!

Thanks again for your everyone
