What’s the going rate for childminders in London?

Our amazing old childminder has had our DC for a couple of ad hoc days recently.

I just checked with her how much I needed to pay her and her daily rate is the same as it was when DD started there four years ago!

It’s £60 per day, including a hot meal at lunchtime and all snacks (and the food is great).

She is wonderful with kids but not very worldly and I wonder is she selling herself short?

Charges in London vary hugely think you would get a better answer if you gave a post code.

Wowzers! I’m panicking about charging £40 a day in Yorkshire and I include food and nappies!

@Thehop
I'm in London where the rate for 10 hours is £50
But you also have to remember the cost of housing in my cheap area of London renting a 2 bed terrace is over £1200 a month and an ordinary small 3 bed is more than £450000 in the more expensive end of the Borough 3 miles away the rate is £8

Oh my days that’s crazy @jannier!

I love visiting London and have ridiculous notions of wanting to live there every time I go but we could never afford it even if it was doable.

You’re worth every penny!

Thanks @jannier. I think the postcode would be too outing but I’m in East London, in zone 2 (so expensive East London!)

Seems quite a good deal to me! I'm. In Zone 4/5 SE London and pay £65 without food or nappies. Central London seems to be around £80 a day
