Nursery applications receiving no response?

I requested application forms from a couple of nursery for my DC. She will be 11mnths when she starts nursery in Sept, I'm a FTM.

Neither nursery has acknowledged I returned the forms and I can't get through on the phone. I presume this is covid related and they are only taking keyworker children so have less staff?

How long do I leave them to reply? I don't want to send her to a second choice nursery but I also don't want to miss out on a place because I'm waiting for a nursery to tell me they have no spaces. Normally I would walk down but clearly not appropriate at the minute. Is this normal behaviour or a red flag? They both come recommended.

Lots of nurseries are hut isolating at the moment..but unless the owners are ill they are still doing their admin ..personally id call around a few different settings and talk to people not just go on recommendations. Have you tried childminders
